Shuey sworn in as Eagles’ skipper

Staff WriterWestern Suburbs Weekly

THE West Coast Eagles have confirmed Luke Shuey will take over as club captain after Shannon Hurn stepped down mid-week.

Shuey is a dual John Worsfold medallist, Norm Smith medallist in the 2018 grand final, and a Chris Mainwaring Medal as best clubman.

He becomes West Coast’s 11th captain.

When the Eagles have needed to find a match-winning gear in recent years, it has often been Shuey who has lifted and the 29-year-old is universally respected both within the club and across the competition.
