Jon BassettWestern Suburbs Weekly

LITTLE feet with big plans kick off the third annual SubiRoos soccer competition for youngsters aged five and up at Rosalie Park Subiaco this Friday .

“We started in response to a growing demand from our youngest and most important players to offer a quality program that gets them off to a great start in the sport,” organiser Jenny Palmer said.

It is planned to run the program for seven weeks each school term this year, allowing the little players a pathway to playing with Subiaco Association Football Club.

“The program is designed to assist them in developing essential motor skills, co-ordination and confidence in a safe and non-competitive environment,” Mrs Palmer said.

The club backs the program.

“Our technical director Adi Juric will be running the 40-minute sessions, teaching the fundamentals of the game while making it fun and exciting for kids,” club president Drew Palmer said.

Juric recently returned from Europe after getting his UEFA Pro coaching license.
