Society tunes up for comeback

TOSA was on a recess while the John Leckie Pavilion was redeveloped over the last two years.

Treasurer Ian McLean said they were ready to come back and ‘wow’ the community.

‘To use this old machinery, which still sounds as amazing as it did back then, is incredible,’ Mr McLean said.

The group use a theatre pipe organ that was made in London 80 years ago and runs off air.

There are hundreds of pipes in the roof of the pavilion, which orchestrate the music played by member Dave Parker.

Each month the group hosts a members’ day open to the public.

‘We’re always looking for more members,’ Mr McLean said.

‘The companionship here and the amazing music is something many would enjoy.’
