PUT on your dancing shoes and join Sophie Foster & Friends as they kick off celebrations for 20 years of Summer Concerts in the community at Lawler Park on Sunday 5 February.

Sophie is a young emerging artist who has recently graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. She is inspired by soulful vocalists such as Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan and Donny Hathaway.

Joined on stage by some of the hottest musicians in Perth, playing songs you know and love, put on your Sunday dancing shoes and join the band for a fun-filled summer evening.

The concert is the first in the four-part series and will begin 20th birthday celebrations.

The series are now a well-established community event. Perfect for all ages, showcase a local Perth band each week, and there’s loads of free fun activities for children including a bouncy castle, face painting and more.

City of Nedlands Mayor Max Hipkins said that the concerts would be a special event not to be missed this summer.

“Bring your friends and family and join in the fun and help celebrate with great local bands and free children’s activities, pack a picnic or buy a pizza, sausage or ice cream from one of the food trucks.”
