The prize includes a return trip to Paris, where she can put her French skills to practise.

Celeste was part of a group of years 10, 11 and 12 students who took the Alliance Française exam.

She said she had been studying the language for more than half her life.

“It’s very good preparation for the WACE exam and you should take every opportunity to listen to French,” she said. “With my prize I’ll be able to go to Paris in the summertime in June next year. I imagine it will look very beautiful.”
