St John of God Hospital’s Medical Centre in Subiaco will not be demolished

SUBIACO’s St John of God Hospital’s Medical Centre will not be demolished, says chief executive Chris Hanna.

Contrary to rumours circulating, Ms Hanna said the Centre “remains an important part of the hospital campus”.

“As part of our focus on providing first-class facilities and high quality care for patients, we are currently examining redevelopment and new service options for our hospital,” she told Western Suburbs Weekly.

“These plans may require the demolition of St John of God House in 2017.”

St John of God House was built in 1962 to serve as accommodation for nurses.

Ms Hanna said the hospital was “happy to provide further information” once plans have been finalised.
