State of Origin footy back for bushfire relief

Staff Writer, with AAPWestern Suburbs Weekly

THE AFL will host a representative match between Victoria and an All-Stars lineup to raise money for bushfire relief at Marvel Stadium on February 28.

In 2009, the AFL played a fundraising match between Essendon and the Western Bulldogs to support victims of the Black Saturday bushfires, raising $1.2 million.

The last Origin-style fixture was in 2008, when Victoria beat the Dream Team by 17 points in the AFL Hall of Fame tribute match at the MCG.
