Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 spent 11 weeks with artist-in -esidence Amanda Shelsher creating ceramic sculptures that paid homage to the school’s close proximity to Herdsman Lake.
Students created frogs, turtles and birds to sit among the vegetation in the garden entrance to the school, as well as some almost life sized teachers.
Art teacher Melinda Cockerill said together with Ms Shelsher, who is also a parent at the school, they came up with the idea for the sculptures last year.
“We used about a tonne of clay,” Mrs Cockerill said. “The kids loved doing it.”
