SUBIACO jewellery store Willie Creek Pearls was the target of a brazen burglary in the early hours of this morning.

Police said an unknown number of offenders smashed the front door of the Hay Street store about 5am, taking a significant amount of items before fleeing.

Willie Creek Pearls sales and marketing manager Bec Guilbert said the value of the items stolen was not yet known.

“We haven’t been able to establish that just yet,” she said.

“We won’t know until we go through our stock.”

Police tape was put up around the shop, which was left a mess after the incident.

Ms Guilbert said the company would be working with police.

“We do have insurance and CCTV as well,” she said.

“It’s an unfortunate incident and we will be assisting the police in the investigation.

“The jewellery is pretty distinct so it is not hard to miss.”

Police are also investigating an attempted ATM theft at a Duncraig shopping centre about 3:40am this morning.

A blue vehicle, believed to be a Holden Cruz, was used to smash through the sliding doors before an unknown number of people entered the Glengarry Shopping Centre.

They attempted to gain entry into an ATM before leaving the scene in the vehicle.

It is not clear if the burglaries are related, however anyone with information on either incidents should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
