Subiaco parking eased with opening of upgraded Forrest Square

The City opened the upgraded carpark at Forrest Square this week, which includes additional parking bays and new parking technology to pay for parking by mobile phone.

Mrs Henderson said the City was looking at creating additional parking to address concerns.

“I think there’s a perception that parking is a challenge in Subiaco and this will help address that,” she said. “We are also currently looking for additional parking in Subiaco and long-term parking.”

The new multi-use space includes 101 car bays, new paving, landscaping and EasyPark technology that allows visitors to park their car without a display ticket and use the app to pay and update their parking.

Mrs Henderson said the multi-use space could also be used for community events.

“Not only is it a very attractive carpark with new paving and landscaping, but the space can be transformed and used for community events such as markets, outdoor concerts and the recent Subiaco Street Party,” she said.

Farmer Jacks Subiaco store manager Neil Mascot said parking was a real issue on weekends in Subiaco.

“Any additional parking in Subiaco will definitely make a difference,” he said.

“Farmer Jacks struggle with parking on weekends especially when the football is on, so this parking will help customers find parking during those busy periods.”
