A COMO man (18) allegedly with pills and an Irishman allegedly overstaying his visa were among those arrested in Subiaco during a day of police action against crime late last week..

“It will be alleged the (18-year-old) man on the train had four pills of MDMA, or ecstasy, when a police sniffer dog identified him at Subiaco train station about 10.40am,” Senior Sergeant Julie Foley said.

The man will be summonsed to face drug possession charges in court at a later date.

Sgt Foley said the dog and his handler, horse patrols and Regional Operations Group officers joined Wembley police in the sub-district that stretches from Mount Hawthorn, through North Perth to Nedlands and Floreat.

It will also be alleged the Irishman (33) was acting suspiciously on a Subiaco street, before his details were given to immigration authorities.

Police also conducted 179 random breath tests, issued 40 traffic violations and patrolled crime hotspots including Karrakatta Cemetery and Lake Monger where there have been frequent thefts from cars recently.

The mounted officers issued a work order to a driver whose car was allegedly not roadworthy.
