Subiaco Street Party this weekend at the Latin Quarter

Montana ArdonWestern Suburbs Weekly

This year, the area outside the Regal Theatre will transform into a cultural hub of all things Latin American, featuring food, music, entertainers, dance workshops and pinata breaking ceremonies.

La Playa Restaurant and Cafe owner Carolayn Sierra said she was pleased to see the new inclusion in this year’s festival.

“It’s great we are spreading the influence of Latin in Subiaco and in Perth,” she said.

La Playa is Perth’s first Colombian eatery, opening its doors in February last year.

Some of the delights that will be on offer on Saturday include empanadas, tequenos (cheese sticks) and La Playa’s new salchipapas (chips with chorizo).

Leederville eatery Pinchos, owned by Justin Bell, will be offering its speciality tapas at the Quarter, along with other local Latin eateries.

The Subiaco Street Party is on from 3-10pm on Saturday, April 8.
