SUBIACO’S Christmas festivities are set to light up the night.

New Subiaco mayor Penny Taylor and Santa himself will flip the switch on the City’s dazzling display on November 24.

Rokeby Road will be filled with activities, food, an 11m-high tree and more for the whole family to enjoy, in the style of traditional European celebrations.

“It was huge last year, there were 15,000 people,” Ms Taylor said.

“The walk-through tree was very popular with people taking photos.”

Subiaco chief executive Don Burnett said after the inaugural Christmas Night of Lights last year, the council consulted with local businesses to see which night of the week would be the best fit, with Friday chosen as the winner.

The event is suitable for all ages and runs from 4pm to 9pm.
