NETWORK 10 Perth has been welcomed “with open arms” by residents and businesses after moving to Subiaco, according to presenter Narelda Jacobs.

The station was the last of three to move from Media Hill in Dianella, choosing a purpose-built premise in the western suburbs to broadcast local news.

Jacobs, who has been with the station for 16 years, said staff were having fun discovering local eateries.

“We are sussing out the best coffee and lunch places; local businesses have embraced us and welcomed us with open arms,” she said.

She said she would never forget her time based in Dianella.

“We will always have fond memories of Dianella and the people we worked with over the years, some who are not with us anymore,” she said.

“I spent eight years on the road and eight years at the desk and the presenting job has opened so many doors and led to amazing jobs and charity work.”

Perth, Adelaide and Operations general manager Frank Filosi said there were many benefits to moving to Hay Street.

“We were keen to move closer to the CBD in a vibrant area that had great exposure for our brand, excellent facilities for staff, access to public transport, parking and general amenities,” he said.

“Being closer to the CBD will assist with some of the time pressures associated with news gathering and the production of the daily bulletin.”

Mr Filosi said moving to a smaller studio with a new fit out meant not all equipment was brought along.

“The new station has a completely new fit out including office accommodation, news set, studio, cameras, lighting and all the technical equipment,” he said.

“Television stations do not have the luxury of closing down when relocating so we built a new television station and ensured it was up and running perfectly before we moved.

“The old equipment has been donated, sold or disposed of responsibly.”
