Subiaco’s Rokeby Road turns blue and gold for West Coast Eagles final

SUBIACO was transformed into a sea of blue and gold overnight ahead of the West Coast Eagles home final game this Friday.

The City of Subiaco painted the northern end of Rokeby Road, decorated street trees and hung large banners from the Hay Street and Rokeby Road intersection.

Acting Mayor Scott Arbuckle said he was excited to welcome more than 80,000 football fans to the two games at Subiaco Oval this weekend.

“We’re celebrating our coffee strip with the colours of the Subiaco-based West Coast Eagles just as Fremantle will be painting their cappuccino strip purple,” Mr Arbuckle said.

“You can already feel the buzz in the air and it’s going to get much stronger as the weekend approaches.”

Visitors to Subiaco this weekend can get free face painting in team colours at Forrest Walk before the games.

Two parklets, one decorated in West Coast Eagles and the other Fremantle Dockers colours, will be located on Hay Street.

West Coast Eagles versus Hawthorn Football Club starts at 6.20pm on Friday, followed by the Fremantle Dockers versus Sydney Swans on Saturday at 1.20pm.
