Government seeking developers for Princess Margaret Hospital car park site

DEVELOPERS can now send submissions to build on the former Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) car park sites.

The State Government called for expressions of interest to develop the entire 5600sq m or one or more of three proposed subdivided lots within the site.

Submissions will be assessed based on the purchase price and development intention.

The car parks, located at 705-707 Murray Street and 18 Cook Street, are a short walk from Mueller Park and the new Inner City College.

Lands Minister Ben Wyatt said the former PMH car parks were an exciting inner city development opportunity neighbouring the Subi East redevelopment precinct.

“Revitalisation of the area surrounding Subi East should complement the precinct, which will create a vibrant education and transit connected community with access to outstanding recreational amenity” he said.

“This is a chance to activate this area for the benefit of the community – I believe with the right developer, this currently underutilised space will find new life.”

Funds from the sale will offset anticipated expenditure of the Subi East redevelopment project.
