IT took three western suburbs residents 22 days to cycle between Bondi and Cottesloe.

The trio raised about $25,000 by partaking in the 4000km ride.

β€œIt seemed like a good way to celebrate my 40th (birthday) and to raise money for intensive care research,” Fiona Stanley Hospital intensive care specialist Ed Litton (39) said.

He, Claremont barista Laurence Greenfield (34) and legal student Gaven Cruise (29) were supported by a van during their trek, which ended with a cooling dip at Cottesloe Beach.

β€œThe best part was the cliffs on the Nullarbor, and the sights, because most of the country is really beautiful,” Mr Greenfield said.

Intensive Care Foundation representative Sharon Knapp said the money collected by the trio would be used to fund studies into increasing intensive care survival rates in Australia and New Zealand.
