WINDSCREEN glass showered a family when a Coogee man (19) allegedly got out of his Holden Commodore and jumped on the family’s car in City Beach last month.

The incident occurred at the West Coast Highway-Hale Road intersection on February 21.

Cottesloe Police Senior Sergeant Tony Booker said police would alleged he “jumped onto the windscreen, causing it to partially shatter and cover the driver and passengers in glass from the windscreen.”

A few minutes earlier, police claim the father used his mobile phone to photograph about six cars spinning their wheels and creating smoke on the highway.

The Honda was being driven by the mother, with her daughter (22) and son (11) in the rear.

Police claim that after the filming, the Commodore clipped the Honda’s wing mirror when it blocked the Honda at the intersection.

“It will be alleged the driver of the Holden Commodore confronted the father, yelling at him and challenging him to fight,” Sgt Booker said.

The father refused, but the Commodore’s driver allegedly pushed the older man in the chest, causing him to stumble backwards.

Cottesloe police will summons the driver to face charges of reckless driving, assault, disorderly conduct and criminal damage at Perth Magistrate’s Court on May 13.
