Teenager’s car flips on roof in Floreat crash overnight

IT is alleged a Wembley man (19) was driving recklessly over the limit and without a licence when he crashed his car and injured his passenger on Grantham Street about 11.40pm last night.

Police said the man was driving his 1986 Toyota coupe on the street when he lost control and the car hit a power pole ended up on its roof.

The driver and the passenger had minor injuries and were taken by St John Ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital.

The driver was charged with having a blood alcohol reading greater than 0.08, driving while his licence was suspended and reckless driving, and he will be summonsed to appear court at a later date.
