VISIONARY Woman of the Year 2019 award winner Iris Smit will support Kiss Violence Against Women Goodbye! this month in celebration of International Women’s Day.

The 24-year-old, who will be presented the inaugural Visionary Woman of the Year award at the 2019 International Women’s Day Luncheon on March 22, said she was passionate about female empowerment and influencing positive change for women.

“I wanted to do something more that’s not just running a sale or putting up a post about International Women’s Day,” she said.

“I was thinking about topics that are close to me and I’ve had domestic violence in my family before.”

Miss Smit said her eyeliner business, The Quick Flick, had helped launch Momentum for Australia charity’s campaign, Kiss Violence Against Goodbye! and slogan, ‘Why Wait til the 8th?’.

“During this campaign we’ll be using all of our social platforms to decry violence against women and provide our followers with the resources they may need if they ever find themselves in a similar situation,” she said.

“If we can help one person through Why Wait til the 8th? then in our eyes, it will be a success.

“Four women will come together to be a part of campaign and share their stories so over the month we’re profiling them as sometimes it can be hard to talk about and sometimes it can be taboo.”

The Quick Flick will donate 10 per cent of all profits during the month of March to the campaign.
