The science behind the circus

Staff ReporterWestern Suburbs Weekly

Last week, St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls Year 3 students Jessica Bihler (8) and Cocolo Nosaka (7) had a sneak peek at the exhibit, which will run until early October.

Jessica said the exhibit was ‘awesome’ and she could not pick her favourite display but did enjoy the laughing clown heads and the strong man tableau.

The exhibit explores the physics, psychology and mathematics of the carnival world and reveals the science behind tricks including how people lie on a bed of nails and what happens when you stand on a spinning top. Scitech is hosting a carnivale themed After Dark event for adults on June 28.
