The spree started when a 2007 silver Honda Legend and a 2007 silver Subaru Impreza were taken from a Melvista Avenue home in Nedlands in a burglary about 1.30am.

“We believe at one point they were driving around in four vehicles.”

A 2006 silver Toyota Landcuiser was taken from a nearby home.

Det-Sgt Vojkovich said it was now being investigated if stealing the cars was linked to multiple thefts from vehicles parked on Davies Road Claremont later that night.

Valuables were taken from three cars in a carpark at the southern end of the road and from seven others at a property about 100m north of the first site.

Det-Sgt Vojkovich said windows of all the vehicles were smashed to take small valuables including sunglasses, coins and wallets.

“Some were damaged with nothing taken at all,” he said.

The Honda was found abandoned on Stirling Highway in Claremont that night.

The Toyota and Subaru had not been recovered late last week.
