THIEVES stole $2000 from the offices of Princess Margaret Hospital-based charity Kidsafe WA in Subiaco yesterday.
This is donations and money people have given to Kidsafe WA to prevent injuries to children, chief executive Scott Phillips said.
Mr Phillips said the theft restricted the work the charity could do with families to stop children being injured.
He said Kidsafe WAs young staff had been affected by someone bashing through their offices front door.
Security guards responded to an alarm but the thieves had left when they arrived.
Senior Sergeant Kate Vivian said the thieves entered the charity on Thomas Street between 5pm and 6pm.
Once inside, they went upstairs, searched some filing cabinets, but stole nothing, before going to another cabinet and taking a blue plastic cashbox containing the money, Snr Sgt Vivian said.
Forensic police will examine the office this morning.
