“We’re going to increase tables and chairs, add more entertainment with a stronger retail mix of fashion and arts, and work on quicker and easier set-ups for stallholders.”

City of Subiaco chief executive Don Burnett said Markets on Rokeby had a positive start.

Table Culture owner Emma McCarthy said her Rokeby Road shop had a “huge increase” in customers due to the markets.

“If every weekend was like the one just passed, we would be over the moon,” Ms McCarthy said.

“The sheer amount of people created such a great atmosphere on the street and in-store.

“As a business we did very well, but more importantly it is a big win for Subiaco and exciting to be a part of the changing layers to the CBD.”
