‘We’ve had couple of incidents each day at Lake Monger, usually in the mornings and late afternoons when people are jogging,’ Senior Sergeant Murray Geneff said.

A Mazda 323 had its window smashed and door lock damaged when an unknown amount of items were taken near the City Beach groyne about 10.30am on October 23. Thieves also opened the boot of a car and took personal documents from a car at Floreat Beach about 11am.

About 3pm, thieves smashed the rear side window of a Mitsubishi Lancer and took a backpack and purse, while about eight thefts from cars in Swanbourne and Claremont streets were reported to Cottesloe police from October 18 to 20.

Senior Sergeant Geneff said victims suffered great inconvenience having their vehicles damaged, despite only small and minor items being the thieves’ targets.
