SPUD King Tony Galati was among four finalists announced at last night’s Ernst and Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Western Region awards ceremony held at Crown Perth.

Louise Daw from MiPlan Consulting, Mike Einhorn and Alan Douglas of Conveyor Products and Solutions Pty Ltd and Duratec Australia’s Phil Harcourt will join Mr Galati to contest the national awards in Melbourne in November.

The overall winner will travel to Monte Carlo in June 2018 to compete for title of EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year.

Patricia Lavater from the Esther Foundation and the Prendiville Group’s Peter Prendiville received the Social Entrepreneur and Champion of Entrepreneurship awards in the non-competitive regional categories.

Ernst & Young Australia Perth managing partner Michael Anghie said this year’s finalists demonstrated that entrepreneurship was strong in WA.

“Our economy is diversifying and the unique nature of our state lends itself to nurturing the entrepreneurial community and helping it thrive,” Mr Anghie said.
