THE Town of Cambridge has appointed an interim chief executive after a special council meeting earlier this week.

Mayor Keri Shannon said as the matter was confidential, she was unable to provide further information as yet on what had occurred.

A second special council meeting was held the following night.

“I am able to advise that Tuesday night’s special meeting of council considered the appointment of an acting chief executive, and council appointed Jason Lyon,” Ms Shannon said.

“Mr Lyon will fulfil the duties of chief executive by leading the executive and advising council.

“Both council and the executive fully support Mr Lyon in this interim role.”

Mr Lyon is currently the Town’s Corporate and Strategic Director.
