Town of Cambridge approves Wembley Baseball Club’s application for backstop nets

TOWN of Cambridge has approved Wembley Baseball Club’s application to build two new baseball backstop nets at Wembley Sports Park.

Councillors approved the request at a meeting on Tuesday evening .

The club will use part of a $2000 grant from Community TAB to install the $1000, 3.1m high nets in the north east and south west corners of the baseball field.

Club president Reed Morris said the club had gone through some hard times in the past couple of years.

“This grant is especially welcome as it goes directly towards equipment,” Mr Morris said.
