Mayor Keri Shannon said the Town had been considering options for improving the water level in Perry Lakes for years.

“Preliminary estimates indicate a capital cost in the vicinity of $2.5 million for construction of the engineering works,” she said.

“Ongoing operational and associated environmental works costs are yet to be determined.”

Ms Shannon said the Town would explore opportunities for external funding of the project.

“Pending council approval and funding of the project, the engineering works could be completed early in 2020-21,” she said.
