Mr Buckley was not entitled to receive any notice of termination or payment in lieu of notice.

Acting chief executive John Giorgi will continue to perform in the role, in an acting capacity, until Council finds a permanent replacement.

Mayor Keri Shannon said thank you to Councillors at the Tuesday meeting for their support, as the Town continued to implement recommendations from the Hall & Wilcox Lawyers Investigation Report.

Members of the Town said they would not discuss details associated with the decision to terminate Mr Buckley’s employment.

Mr Buckley has been contacted for comment.
