UNIVERSITY students from Notre Dame, Edith Cowan, Murdoch, Curtin and UWA dug in when they joined Friends of Lake Claremont volunteers to plant seedlings at the wetland last Saturday.

“Not only are us volunteers contributing to the wellbeing of our earth, we as universities are collaborating and working alongside each other towards a common goal.” Notre Dame Volunteer Network spokeswoman Donna Tempra said.

Since 2013, 20 volunteers from each campus have helped the community group Friends of Lake Claremont.

This year’s work comprised planting 2700 seedlings and started the universities’ participation in National Student Volunteer Week.
