FOOD trucks are headed to a popular Floreat park.

Summer is set to get a lot tastier when Perry Lakes Utopian Nights takes over the leafy surrounds of Perry Lakes Reserve on Friday nights.

Food Truck Pop Up plans to launch the weekly food truck and market stalls event in October, after gaining approval from the Town of Cambridge.

Council requested a six-week trial of the markets to gauge viability and if successful, the Friday night venture would continue to April 2020.

The weekly night market will run at Perry Lakes Reserve.

In a written pitch to the Town, Food Truck Pop Up said it aimed to offer 20 to 35 food truck vendors along with as many as 60 “high-end” retail market stalls.

These will be supported by family-friendly entertainment and a licensed bar area subject to approval.

The first market is proposed for October 4 from 5pm to 9pm.
