Virgin to offer checked in bags for babies

AAPWestern Suburbs Weekly

PARENTS will no longer need to cram their baby’s bottles and nappies into their bags when flying, with Virgin offering checked baggage for children under two.

A child under 23 months old will have an allowance of 23kg of checked baggage, two large infant items such as a pram or cot and a 7kg carry-on bag for essential baby products – a first for an Australian airline.

Virgin ground operations general manager Paul Woosnam said the offer will be available on domestic and international flights.

“We know travelling with an infant can be incredibly stressful and we’re pleased to make that journey a little more effortless,” Mr Woosnam said.
