THE State government is suing BGC Construction over alleged building defects at the HBF Park stadium.
BGC Construction won a $95 million contract to redevelop the venue, then known as nib Stadium, home to Perth Glory soccer club and Western Force rugby team.
The project, which BGC said it completed in 2013, included a covered two-tiered eastern grandstand, a 250-seat barbecue terrace, seating for open corporate boxes and a new playing surface.

A spokesman for Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray said there were no risks to any events being held at HBF Park as a result of any legal action.
“As this is a matter of dispute between the state and BGC Construction, the state government is not in a position to comment at this point in time,” he said.
AAP is seeking comment from BGC.
The stadium was renamed HBF Park earlier this year.
BGC is separately involved in a legal dispute with American-owned Cliffs Asia Pacific Iron Ore over contract work at the Koolyanobbing mine.
