WATER Corporation has started work to refurbish wastewater pipes in the Town of Cambridge to extend their life by about 50 years.

Water Corporation General Manager of Assets Delivery Nathan Hardwick said the $4 million project formed part of an ongoing program to reline and refurbish wastewater pipes across the State.

“Around 4.4 km of wastewater pipe will be refurbished over the next four months,’’ he said.

“Work will take place within Floreat, City Beach, Wembley and Wembley Downs.

“The community may notice an increase in activity along impacted pipeline routes, however traffic management will be in place at all times and disruption will be kept to a minimum.”

The refurbishment project will be completed by July 2019.
