A WESTERN suburbs primary school is one of the biggest winners in a State Government funding package for WA schools.
Mt Claremont Primary School has been allocated a $1.4 million share in the $200m package for high priority maintenance works.
Principal Tracey Oakes said the funding would be used for “much-needed” improvements to the school administration building.

READ NOW“The administration upgrade will be the first major improvement to buildings since the 1950s,” she said.
Churchlands Senior High School will receive $990,654 for structural repairs, classroom refreshments, replacement of transportable classrooms and maintenance upgrades, which principal Bernard Dunn said would comprise painting, floor covering replacement, and fixing old windows and doors.
“While the school has many state-of-the-art buildings, the money will benefit students and staff by bringing ageing infrastructure into line with the rest of the school,” he said.
