The publication was named the best newspaper with a circulation of 30,000 – 50,000 in the southern division, an award the newspaper has now won five times.
Editor Denise Cahill said the newspaper’s strength came from its connection with the community.
‘This award shows that community newspapers, especially in Perth, are still a big part of people’s lives,’ she said.
Judges recognised the strong front-page design, strength and relevance of stories and the quality of advertising in awarding the prize.

‘The balance of editorial and advertising within the magazine meant we produced a quality product which was a win for both our clients and readers,’ advertising territory manager Doreen Wray said of the publication.
Community Newspaper Group publication Your Home won the award for outstanding design and photographer Bruce Hunt won both the news and feature photo categories.
