Wine festival finds new home on Perth coast

Laura PondWestern Suburbs Weekly

A POPULAR wine festival has found a new home along the coast.

Sunset Wine & Brews has run at Scarborough for the past six years, returning to its original Scarborough Beach home this year after a stint at Brighton Reserve during the foreshore redevelopment.

But organiser Richard Campbell said they needed to find a larger venue.

It will launch at Jubilee Park in City Beach on February 7 to 9, which Mr Campbell said would allow for a VIP area like at its sister event UnWined Subiaco and a beer garden.

“We just felt we needed to expand,” he said.

“We’re quite excited by it, we’re looking at broadening our offering.

“(At Scarborough) we couldn’t expand any more than we already did.”

Mr Campbell said they worked with City of Stirling to find an alternative location but was unable to secure something suitable.

He expected the City Beach location to be just as popular and said it offered parking and easy access by bus.

Tickets will go on sale later in the year via www.wineandfood.com.au.
