Winners of Nedlands Roland Leach Poetry Prize announced

WINNERS of the 2018 City of Nedlands Roland Leach Poetry Prize were announced at Mt Claremont Library last month .

Year 12 Presbyterian Ladies’ College student Sonya Frossine took out the overall award with her poem Half, also winning the Years 10-12 category.

Year Eight John Forrest Secondary College student Bea Alejandre won the Years Seven to Nine category with her poem Portia my deore, etan have you?

Hannah Wang, a Year Five Methodist Ladies’ College student, won the Years Five to Six category with her piece Painting music memories.

Year Four Perth College student Tessa Scarparlo took out the Years Three to Four category with her poem The Moon is a Splatter of Paint.

All winners received Booktopia gift certificates.

There were 1123 entries from 112 schools across the state.
