Perth woman accused of using lube bottles to import drugs

A 63-year-old Perth woman is accused of using personal lubricant bottles to import ecstasy posted from the UK.

Federal police say the two 500ml and two 250ml bottles were found during a search of a car and a home in Welshpool as part of an ongoing anti-gangs squad investigation into a syndicate attempting to import drugs into Australia.

The brown liquid inside was tested, returning a presumptive positive result for MDMA, and the weight and purity of the substance is still being determined.

The woman has been charged with possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply and is due to face court on December 19.

WA Police Force detective inspector Mark Twamley said the arrest was a significant outcome in disrupting an outlaw motorcycle gang-related criminal network.
