AN overseas visitor will never forget her holiday to Perth, after her children found what police believe was a bag of methamphetamine in their hire car.
The woman’s sister posted a photo of the bag next to the hire car keys in a Facebook group, prompting a string of incredulous comments.
According to the post, the car was rented from the No Birds Car Hire company’s Bayswater branch.

READ NOWThe family was travelling up the Kwinana Freeway when the bag was spotted beneath the driver’s seat.
The family has since flown home, and the woman’s sister handed the bag into police last Friday.
Police confirmed they had received the bag and that it did contain a substance they “believed to be meth”.
The woman’s sister said they had complained to the company but had been met with apathy.
“When we contacted the branch we asked to speak with the manager who laughed and said ‘it happens all the time’,” she said.
“There was no apology whatsoever.
“We were then transferred to another manager who said he’d never heard of it happening at all, so either it’s not being reported within the company or he was fobbing us off.
“They were given a refund of one day’s car hire but still no apology.”
The No Birds Car Hire company has been contacted several times for comment.
An employee did confirm the family had been given a discount on their car rental.
