Youths suspected for car park thefts in West Leederville, Leederville

YOUTHS attempting to steal cars and taking valuables from inside others are suspected for break-ins at underground car parks in West Leederville and Leederville in the past two nights.

Senior Sergeant Peter Gilmour said the youths may be linked to an unsuccessful attempt to steal a car at an underground car park in Cambridge Street, West Leederville overnight.

However, 12 other cars in the car park were raided for their owners’ small valuables.

The previous night, an underground car park was entered in Vincent Street, Leederville, before attempts were made to take two cars.

Laptop computers, bicycles and tools were taken from other vehicles in the car park.

The youths were described as male, aged 16 to 17, all with slight builds.

One was light skinned and wore a grey and black hooded jumper, another was dark skinned and wore a stripped shirt, while the third had tanned skin and wore a black t-shirt with black jeans that had holes in the knees.
