Opinion: More parks for dogs in Nedlands, please

Don Frayne, ClaremontWestern Suburbs Weekly

I was pleased but very surprised that the Mayor of Nedlands is a dog lover, given his council’s decision to increase the fenced area of the children’s playground at the Carrington Street Dog Park.

I ask the Mayor to consider that the park is much loved by dogs and owners alike and that fenced dog parks in the western suburbs are few and far between, unlike children’s playgrounds.

The park serves the community well by socialising dogs and getting their owners out and about.

I trust the Mayor will vote against any future proposals to increase the children’s play area.

I think the current decision to increase the area is a mistake and request it be reviewed.
