Cat caf raises more funds than surf life saving

Rosanna CandlerWestern Suburbs Weekly

However, there is something seriously wrong with our collective priorities when a private enterprise crowdfunds five times more money than a not-for-profit surf club.

City of Perth Surf Life Saving Club’s social media drive to fit out its new City Beach clubrooms was extended an extra week on June 7, when it raised just $30,000 of its $90,000 target.

Meanwhile, The Cat Café Perth exceeded its $150,000 goal in the same amount of time, and the money continued to roll in.

The cat café will be a great little tourist attraction with its heart in the right place, but come on people, the surf club literally saves lives.
