We live in a consumerist society.

So much more ends up in landfill than just rubbish, why add a backfiring gift to the pile?

Instead of just throwing out those unwanted socks, books, candles or cosmetic/shaving gift sets, help save the planet (and your back pocket) by re-gifting it to someone who might make better use of it.

Just be sure to keep track of who gave it to you to save the awkwardness of it boomeranging back to the initial giver.

I’m a big believer in “it’s the thought that counts”, so I’ll gratefully receive any gift and try to make use of it.

A bad shirt can be used for gardening or painting.

But if it’s no good for me, why would I think someone else would appreciate it.

Plus, what does it say about me? There’s no thought in pulling an old gift out of a cupboard and putting fresh wrapping paper on it.

If you don’t want it, there are plenty of charities that would be extremely grateful.
