Natalie HordovWestern Suburbs Weekly

THE owner said they looked at 76 homes over six months, from Subiaco to North Fremantle, before finding this tri-level home on a 344sq m block.

It was love at first sight.

“I walked along the boardwalk, over the koi pond and liked the feel of the home,” they said.

“By the time I got to the top floor and looked over the pine trees of Pearse Street I said to the agent ‘let’s make an offer’.”

Built in 2009 by Giorgi Builders & Architects, the home has a flowing design and a tropical resort style, where indoor and outdoor blend seamlessly.

The lower level includes a three-car undercroft garage with two storerooms.

The ground floor houses a light and airy open-plan living/dining area that opens to an alfresco area.

“My favourite place in the house is actually out of the house – the front ground-floor patio,” the owner said.

“Seated on jarrah boards, with a broad coffee table and a day bed looking out to the pine trees, I have spent many a lazy hour listening to the wind blowing through the tops of the trees.”

The dining area flows through to the central, state-of-the-art kitchen with granite benchtops and white gloss cabinetry.

As you head towards the back of the home there is a study and lovely master bedroom, with walk-in and built-in robe and ensuite, that opens to a tranquil deck.

Upstairs is another living room that opens to a balcony, two study areas, three bedrooms with built-in robes and one bathroom.

The owner said they will miss living in quiet Pearse street with its close-knit community.

“The street feels like the UWA Summerville theatre, so each year I cover the front of the home with a 5mx4m white screen and show a foreign film,” they said.

“About 150 people picnic on the front verge for a ‘Summerville’ experience.

“We also have great street parties each Christmas.”

The home is for sale by open negotiation.
