Crawley, 8 Crawley Avenue – High $1 millions

Natalie HordovWestern Suburbs Weekly

OWNERS Ed and Paula Ford bought 6 Crawley Avenue 28 years ago.

They liked the leafy location, between Kings Park and the Swan River, and just eight minutes from the city, with a bus service every 10 minutes.

When the opportunity arose, they bought 8 Crawley Avenue and their adult daughters lived in the property from time to time.

Following a trip to Italy, Mr and Mrs Ford were inspired to carry out an extensive renovation on both their properties in 2005.

They removed the roof, ceilings and cornices in number 8, updated the kitchen, including installing timber flooring that flowed through to the family room, added wrought iron balustrades, new tiles and carpets.

The townhouse now has a timeless Mediterranean style – light and airy, with high ceilings, and spacious rooms.

Set among mature, tropical gardens it is a peaceful hideaway from the world.

The living areas are upstairs and include the kitchen and family room, dining room and lounge with coffered ceilings, and sunroom overlooking the courtyard and gardens.

The master bedroom and spa ensuite, second bedroom and bathroom are also upstairs.

Two more large bedrooms, including a king-sized bedroom with a bay window, a third bathroom, storeroom and laundry are on the ground floor.

The location offers an exceptional lifestyle with Kings Park and the river on the doorstep, and the CBD, Nedlands and Subiaco a short drive away.
