AMY Di Vincenzo’s interest in real estate was sparked by her family’s background in building and renovating.
“I decided to give it a go and never looked back,” she said.
Ms Di Vincenzo began her career in 2006, working as a personal assistant before making the leap into full time sales; she said getting her first listing and closing that sale was a proud moment.
She has seen the industry change over the past 13 years.
“When I first started, the market was male-dominated. Now there are a lot more women out there, it’s great to see the diversity,” Ms Di Vincenzo said.
“Initially, I definitely felt like I had to prove myself more when up against a man as most people saw them as the traditional real estate agent.”
Her advice to women contemplating a real estate career is: “Do your research; set some goals for what you want to achieve in your first year and make a plan. Don’t just jump in with your eyes closed and hope for the best”.
“Determination, a strong work ethic and being willing to go that extra mile for your clients are also essential for success,” Ms Di Vincenzo said.
“My goal in real estate is to always give the best possible service to all my clients and to always grow and learn something new.
“On a personal note, my goal is to try finish off a never-ending home renovation.”
