OVER the years many real estate agents have opened their own finance or settlement divisions, but recently one western suburbs mortgage broker has turned the tables and opened its own real estate agency.
Mortgage Choice in Wembley opened Scope Realty in response to the needs of its clients.
“Our mortgage broking clients were constantly asking us to refer them to a reputable, quality real estate agent,” Scope Realty principal Ricky Gee-Woolhouse said.
“We realised this was a valuable service we could provide ourselves.”
Mr Gee-Woolhouse said the business goal was to offer a fully integrated ‘one-stop-shop’ service for clients wanting to buy and sell property.
“This includes real estate sales, property management, mortgage finance, conveyancing and financial planning,” he said.
“Most people purchasing real estate require the services of a real estate agent, finance broker/bank and settlement agency, while investors will require a property management service as well.
“Part of our duty of care is we offer clients purchasing property a meeting with our financial advisor free of charge to review their financial wellbeing.
“If it is found that they can gain a benefit from further meetings with our financial planner, then that just happens.”
Scope Realty opened five months ago, and the property management and settlement services will open in 2017. n
