Natalie HordovWestern Suburbs Weekly

“My husband grew up here and loved it, but we had lived in Leederville for the previous 13 years and I missed the inner-city feel and being able to walk to coffee shops, restaurants and bars,” she said.

“When we moved to Mosman Park we had to get in the car to go anywhere.

“That has changed; some great new places, such as Rodney’s and Samson’s Paddock, have opened in the past three years and you bump into friends and neighbours when you are out, which you couldn’t do before as you were in the car.”

The family moved to Mosman Park to be close to schools for their daughters.

“We wanted our girls to go to school here, and knew we would have to move at some point,” Mrs Lawrence said.

“We started idly looking for a home and found ourselves buying a house about 12 to 18 months earlier than planned.”

They bought a 1940s home with four bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms.

“The location was good and we liked the extension done by a previous owner,” Mrs Lawrence said.

“The proximity to the beach and river has been an advantage, and the kids can walk or ride their bikes to the river.

“Mosman Park has grown on me and it’s become clear that this is a really lovely place to have a young family.” n
